the new configuration of misfit toys played our first gig this weekend at JR's Blackhorse Tavern in Ontario. JR's is a good venue if you like down and dirty rock 'n roll/pool/darts and of course a variety of liquid sustinence.

The new Lineup:
Frank Sanseri - Keyboard/Guitar/Vocals
Dave Preston - Rhythm Guitar/Vocals
Laurie Sanseri - Drums/Vocals
Dick Detwiler - Bass
Kenny Sheehan- Lead Guitar/Vocals
Sound was good on stage as we settled in - working through a set list of 60s-90s material. The Violent Fems "Blister in the Sun" with Frank out front and Dick's outlandish bass fills contrasted with Dave's "Little Red Riding Hood" (Sam the Sham) and served notice that we'd be all over the map as the night progressed. Laurie's late night rendition of Bobby McGee got a walk-on high five from one of JR's regulars. Dire Straits "Money For Nothin' " saw new MT member Kenny Sheehan doin' the Mark Knopfler fingertip deal on the guitar and doin' his best MK laid back chant "I should'a learned to play the guitar!"
Some late arrivals were left chanting "one more song" as 1:30 came and MT obliged with a final Skynard tune (3 Steps)
gear-geek alert!
Kenny was breaking in a new axe to compliment his customized Fender Strat - it's a Dillion PRS clone that has been rewired to split the pickups. Both felt good running through the live stereo Mesa/Marshall split stack.
On stage sound will be refined for our next show by adding more distributed speaker cabs for synth and drums.
